Trim Levels

The Dodge Ram 1500 is available in six regular trim levels, and an additional six trims are designed specifically for the crew and quad cabin configurations. The Ram 1500 Tradesman sports 17-inch steel wheels and all-season tires that provide maximum control. It also comes with a Class IV receiver hitch, a trailer tow with a four-pin connector, and a seven-pin wiring harness. The Night Is Special Edition option features a radical monochromatic appearance with black-painted parts.

Engine Power

The Ram 1500 is offered with one of three engines. The base is a 3.6-liter V-6 that outputs 269 pound-feet of torque with 305 horsepower. The 5.7-liter V-8 produces 395 horsepower with 410 pound-feet of torque, while the unique top-level turbo-diesel 3.0-liter V-6 is good for 240 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. All engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with choices of all- or rear-wheel drive.

The exclusively advanced air suspension and EcoDiesel engine enable the Ram 1500 to produce a remarkably smooth ride, which is closer to that of a car than a truck. It also improves fuel consumption on highway driving. Cornering is impressive, with a minimal notice of body roll. Steering is light but steady. Performance and handling capability can be improved with more power when supplied with the Hemi V-8 engine. The capability of Ram 1500 is enhanced when the exclusive Cargo Management system is included.

Interior Design

Premium-quality materials are used in the luxurious interior of the Limited Tungsten edition. The airiness and excellent ergonomics of the front cabin can stand up to heavy use. Conveniences such as European wood paneling and easy-access dashboard glovebox are offered on select trims. There is more than enough space in the rear crew cab, where adults can enjoy long trips on leather seats surrounded by soft-feel surfaces. At the heart of the interior is the Uconnect system, which can double as a command center for information and entertainment.

Safety Features

Many safety features, such as front and rear parking sensors, are standard on trim packages. The front cabin includes driver and passenger air bags, as well as a separating side curtain. Halogen headlights with delay-off function are standard, as well as the practical panic alarm system. Electronic stability control maintains vehicle control in low-traction conditions, and the ParkView and ParkSense features warn drivers visually and audibly of pending impacts while parking.
