The 2019 Ram 3500 is a powerhouse of a truck that is just at ease at a job site as it is on the open road. With powerful engine options, smart technology, and brand-new components under the hood, this truck is ready to tackle whatever you throw its way.
The 2019 Ram 3500 is available in five trim levels: Limited, Laramie Longhorn Edition, Laramie, Bighorn, and Tradesman. Five different grille designs create bold looks that demand attention. Full-LED headlamps and mirror-mounted rear spotlights are available to light your way. The available RamBox cargo management system provides secure storage options in the truck bed. The storage area also includes a 115-volt power outlet, so you can keep devices charged while on the go.
Two engines are available under the hood of the 2019 Ram 3500. Choose between a Cummins turbo diesel I6 engine or opt for the Hemi V-8. This year, the 6.7-liter diesel burner received a new block made of compacted graphite iron, which Ram says is stronger and lighter than a gray iron block. A new cast iron cylinder head, exhaust valves, rocker arms, and springs are also included in the 2019 models. Diesel and air are turned into power thanks to the new forged connecting rods, new lightweight pistons, and new bearings.
Three transmissions are offered in the Ram 3500. The Hemi has an 8HP75 transmission, the standard-output diesel has a six-speed automatic, and the high-output diesel features an Aisin six-speed automatic.
The Cummins diesel engine is available in two outputs — the standard output cranks out 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque, while the high-output offers 400 horsepower and 1,000 pound-feet of torque. If you prefer having a Hemi under the hood, you'll get 410 horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque.
The 3500 has the power to carry payloads up to 7,680 pounds and can tow up to 35,100 pounds. Choose from the standard 4x2 or kick it up a notch with the available 4x4 models. To keep engine vibrations at bay, frame-mounted vibration dampers are included on all models.
The Ram 3500 receives improved towing capabilities in 2019. A Fifth-Wheel/Gooseneck Prep Package is available, which has an upgraded rear-axle structural crossmember. The package includes everything you need, including hardware, mounting holes, bed-mounted seven-pin connector, and covers.
Stretching out your legs isn't a problem in the Ram 3500, as it has 43.3 inches of legroom. The Limited and Laramie models feature leather seating.
A 12-inch touch-screen display with 360-degree surround view camera with trailer reverse guidance view is available. The extra-large center console is big enough to hold a 15-inch laptop, making it easy to work from job sites.
The Ram 3500 has several features available that will keep you safe on the road. ParkSense rear park assist, which includes six sensors that help to protect your fenders, is available as an option. Also available are adaptive forward lighting system, 360-degree surround view camera, and forward collision warning with active braking.
