Joe’s Real BBQ
One trip to Gilbert and you’ll be sure to hear about Joe’s. It’s a Gilbert institution and is proud to serve perhaps the best barbecue in the entire state. It’s been serving up house-smoked meat for over two decades, and locals continue to flock here for the quality and flavor.
Joe’s Real BBQ smokes all of the meat over Arizona pecan wood. The barbecue chicken, sausages, turkey, pulled pork, and beef are all slow cooked and melt in your mouth. Be sure to pair your meat with plenty of sides. The macaroni and cheese, coleslaw, and barbecue beans are some of the most popular choices.
Joyride Taco House
This casual yet chic restaurant serves street-style tacos that you can’t find anywhere else in Gilbert. They have tons of share plates like nachos, guacamole, Mexican-style street corn, and shrimp ceviche to start the meal and enjoy with a few drinks.
Be sure not to fill up on chips, though. If you come to Joyride Taco House, you need to save room for their tacos. The omelets are a popular choice. They have 24 different options, and all are plentiful and served with cheese, home fries or hash browns, and toast. They can also make the omelets with egg whites only. For something more filling, try the house-made Belgian waffles served with fruit. Make sure to try one of their freshly baked cinnamon rolls. They sell quickly.
The Keg Steakhouse and Bar
If you’re looking for a good date-night restaurant, the Keg Steakhouse and Bar is a perfect option. It’s slightly fancier than the other options, and the food is exceptional. It has one of the most extensive wine menus in the area.
As the name might suggest, the Keg has a wide selection of steak options such as top sirloin, filet mignon, prime rib, New York strip steak, and tenderloin medallions. If you enjoy surf and turf, you can have your steak with lobster, shrimp, or crab. There are also fish dishes, chicken options, and salads and soups to enjoy.
